The Chicago Corporation mourns the passing of our Chairman Emeritus, John A. "Jack" Wing. Jack was a friend and mentor to all of us for many years. He honored us by becoming our Chairman Emeritus when we reestablished the firm in 2010. He was the true builder of the original firm, expanding its services and professionals exponentially during his 16-year tenure as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was respected by both colleagues and competitors during those years and epitomized the meaning of professionalism and ethics. He understood the necessity for fair dealing in the financial services industry in order to maintain market integrity and client loyalty, and he demanded the same integrity from all who worked with him. He also taught us the importance of community service. Jack leaves an outstanding legacy to the financial services industry and to the greater Chicago community but his passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. We will all deeply miss Jack and we extend our sincerest sympathies to his family.
